When Christ Returns
By David Jeremiah
Hello friends,
The return of Christ is not speculation—it is promise. Scripture makes it clear that His coming is certain, ordered, and purposeful.
The Rapture: To Take His Church to Be With Him
Christ’s coming is imminent. All the prophecies that must be fulfilled before His return have already been completed. He will descend with a shouted command, with the voice of an angel, and with the trumpet of God. In that moment, all believers—both living and dead—will meet the Lord in the air.
Like an eager bride, the Church waits for the final culmination of her union with her Groom.
The Tribulation
Immediately following the Rapture, the restraining influence of the Spirit of God will be removed from the earth. What follows will be far worse than anything the world has yet known. The seven-year Tribulation period will mark the climax of increasing darkness, the outpouring of God’s judgment against wickedness, and unmistakable signs pointing toward Christ’s return in judgment.
Those who belong to Christ at the time of the Rapture will not experience those seven horrific years.
The Second Coming: To Judge the World
The Antichrist will rise and rule with great wickedness. Yet just when it appears that evil has fully triumphed—when hope seems lost and darkness dominates—the Second Coming of Christ will take place. God’s Son will return in power and glory to dethrone the Beast and establish His righteous rule.
The Millennium: Christ Ruling the World
The word millennium simply means “one thousand years.” During this time, Christ will rule the earth from Jerusalem. Scripture tells us that His followers will rule with Him, participating in a reign marked by righteousness, justice, and peace.
The New Heaven and the New Earth
While Scripture does not give us every detail about the physical properties of the new heaven and the new earth, what we are told is more than enough to fill our hearts with hope and joy. God will make all things new.
God knows the future. He knows tomorrow as thoroughly as He knows yesterday. And He has chosen to reveal what is ahead in the final book of Scripture. We do not need speculation, fear-driven theories, or mystical practices to understand what is coming. The truth is already written.
The times are urgent. The days are short. The battle is fierce.
The book of Revelation is a shield for the heart. As we study it, we discover not only how to escape the coming night—but how to anticipate the eternal day.
