📌 Jezebel’s Influence:

One of the defining characteristics of the Jezebel spirit is the powerful supernatural influence it exerts. This spirit hates the prophet and the prophetic. The key word here is supernatural. We are not talking about ordinary personality conflicts or difficult human interactions. We are talking about the spiritual realm—the demonic realm.

A strong spirit can carry weight and pressure comparable to angelic strength. In Scripture, when angels appeared, people often fell down in fear. In a similar way, a strong Jezebel spirit can cause a person to tremble, freeze, or feel overwhelmed under its influence. I know this firsthand. At one point, I was under direct attack from a Jezebel spirit, and I would literally tremble when this person addressed me face-to-face. There was no human explanation for it.

And that is the key indicator.

You find yourself asking, “How in the world does this person have so much power and influence?” It doesn’t make sense on a natural level.

Later, I encountered another situation involving someone who was affected by the same spirit, though not as strongly entrenched. Even then, the impact was real. In certain situations, I would lose my voice and be unable to speak. Again—no natural explanation.

Experiences like these will drive you straight into dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ. You quickly learn that you cannot breathe—much less overcome—without Him. But through Him, we become overcomers.

One of the greatest dangers—and one I have personally faced—is trying to give the person the benefit of the doubt to the point of second-guessing what is actually happening. It is not wise to deny the presence of a Jezebel spirit when it is truly there. If you deny it, you cannot pray effectively, because you are praying against something you do not believe exists. But when you acknowledge it, you can pray in power for deliverance, and you will also walk in greater wisdom when interacting with that person.

That said, I want to be very clear.

I do not believe that everyone who claims to have encountered a Jezebel spirit actually has. Many people read about it in a book and then overlay that label onto a difficult or painful situation. Discernment matters.

At the same time, I do believe there are levels of strength within this spirit. When it has been entrenched for years, it will take time, prayer, and sustained healing for full restoration. In other cases, the spirit may not yet be deeply rooted, and its influence may feel more like a nuisance than a full threat—unless it is left unchecked.

Wisdom, prayer, and dependence on Jesus are essential.
