📌 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
— Luke 19:10 (NKJV)
This single sentence tells us something tender and holy about the heart of God:
He is not waiting for us to find Him—He is coming to find us.
Jesus speaks these words not in a lecture hall, but in the presence of the overlooked and the misunderstood. He is explaining why He came. His mission is clear: to seek and to save.
To seek means He goes looking.
To save means He restores what was damaged.
And lost does not only describe rebellion—it describes brokenness, confusion, weariness, and inner fracture.
Many people are not lost because they ran away, but because life wounded them. Some are lost in grief. Some are lost in disappointment. Some are lost while still showing up, still believing, still serving.
And Jesus says, “I came for you.”
He does not seek the polished.
He does not wait for the healed.
He does not avoid the messy places of the soul.
He comes looking because you are hurting.
This verse quietly assures us that healing is not a side benefit of salvation—it is woven into its purpose. The One who saves also binds wounds. The One who finds also restores.
You are not overlooked.
You are not forgotten.
You are not too broken to be found.
You are the reason He came.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
— Psalm 147:3
Point to Ponder
Where have you felt “lost” on the inside—not sinful, but weary, wounded, or unseen—and how does it change your heart to know that Jesus seeks that place too?
🙏Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You that You did not wait for me to find my way back.
Thank You for seeking me when I was lost within myself.
Come into the broken places of my heart and restore what has been wounded.
I receive Your saving work—not only for eternity, but for today.
Amen.
Declare:
I am sought. I am found. I am being restored.
Jesus came for me.❤️
Say it again and say it LOUD:
I am sought
I am found
I am being restored
Jesus came for ME💕
