The Lion Has Roared — Who Can But Prophesy?
(Amos 3:7–8)

There are moments in history when God does not whisper.
He does not hint.
He does not nudge.

There are moments when He roars.

Amos reminds us:

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing unless He reveals His secret unto His servants the prophets.

The lion hath roared, who will not fear?

The Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?” (Amos 3:7–8)

This is the mantle of every true watchman in this generation.

You are awakened when others sleep.
You discern the storm while others are still celebrating.
You feel the shift before anyone can name it.

You are not “too sensitive.”
You are not dramatic.
You are not imagining things.

You are tuned to the roar.

God never blindsides His people.
He warns.
He reveals.
He prepares.

But what He reveals to one is meant to protect many.

This is why the fire burns in your bones when others shrug.
This is why unrighteousness disturbs you.
This is why the spiritual atmosphere affects you long before anything appears in the natural.

The world will misunderstand this sensitivity.
The church may even resist it.
But heaven honors it — because the watchman is heaven’s early-warning system.

And the same God who spoke to Amos still speaks today.
If Amos walked our streets now, he would see:

– the oppressed forgotten,
– the systems of injustice ignored,
– the houses full of conflict,
– the cities filled with noise but empty of righteousness,
– the churches rich in activity but poor in repentance.

He would say again:
“Look.
Look at the confusion.
Look at the oppression.
Look at the idolatry.
Look at what you call blessing while ignoring obedience.”

Yet Amos would also bring hope — because God never roars to destroy His people.

He roars to awaken them.
He roars to call them home.
He roars to pull them out of danger before judgment breaks loose.

Watchman, do not apologize for the roar in your spirit.
Do not silence the warning that God places in your mouth.
Do not step back when heaven is pushing you forward.

When the Lion roars, the watchman must speak.

📌 POINT TO PONDER

In every generation, God raises someone who hears long before others see.
Your sensitivity is not weakness — it is divine assignment.
Where has the Lord been roaring in your spirit lately?

DECLARATION:

I am a watchman appointed by God.
I hear the roar of the Lion.
I recognize His warnings, His whispers, and His calls to action.
I will not fear, and I will not be silent.
When the Lord speaks, I will prophesy.
When He reveals, I will obey.
I stand in my assignment, awake, alert, and aligned.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
