🔹Hearing the Holy Spirit About Whom to Follow
I heard the Lord tell me many years ago—and He has never said anything different—that we should hear the Holy Spirit tell us which ministries to follow, and then stay with them unless He says otherwise.
There are far too many ministries in the world today—online, on television, and even in people’s basements—that are not teaching pure doctrine. Some are representing themselves as being in ministry, yet they have not allowed the Holy Spirit to season them. They jump out years ahead of God’s appointed time.
You can’t just pick up a book entitled Charis-mania 101 and expect to become an expert on the subject—even if you have head knowledge. It doesn’t work that way.
So I recommend that each person prayerfully seek the instructors and teachers the Lord has foreordained for you to follow. Then, stay within that group unless He clearly directs you otherwise. This becomes your base doctrine—a foundation of stability. Mankind is not perfect, but when you are connected to a God-appointed group, there will be a measure of consensus and accountability that helps establish healthy boundaries.
Before you attach your heart to any ministry, take time to look at the fruit of their lives. The Apostle Paul said, “Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12). Don’t just listen to words—observe their walk. A true leader’s life will testify of faithfulness, humility, integrity, and love. We are not called to imitate charisma, but character—those who have proven the Word by living it.
And to those who are called to be watchmen of doctrine—please, be careful. Do not step out too soon. If you begin to accuse or judge a ministry before God has set His eyes upon it, you risk moving contrary to Him. That is not a safe place to be. In fact, it is a dangerous one, and it can cause you to lose your anointing.
Be wise. Be careful. Stay humble.
