Would Jesus Use The Internet?

📌Would Jesus Use the Internet?

Yes. I believe He would. Jesus always went where the people were. In His day, that meant the temple, the synagogues, the hillsides, the marketplaces, the dinner tables, and even the seashore. He met Nicodemus by night, Zacchaeus in a tree, and a woman at a well. If the crowds gather somewhere, Jesus shows up there.

Today, billions gather daily on the Internet. It has become the modern “marketplace of ideas.” If Jesus came in the flesh in this generation, it’s hard to imagine Him ignoring the largest gathering place in human history.

How Might He Use It?

1. Teaching the Word
• Just as He sat on a mountain and taught the Sermon on the Mount, He might stream His messages online so the multitudes could hear.
• He could use short parables in posts, videos, or threads …modern equivalents of mustard seed stories that go viral in people’s hearts.

2. Healing & Deliverance
• People reached Him through letters in the New Testament (Paul’s epistles carried the gospel across continents).
• Online, He could pray for the sick in real-time, releasing words of knowledge and healing testimonies through livestreams or messages that reach across borders instantly.

3. Calling Disciples
• Jesus walked up to fishermen at their boats and said, “Follow Me.”
• Today, He might “call” people through a video, a blog post, or even a private message that pierces their heart.

4. Revealing the Father
• The Internet would let Him share truth with people in closed nations where missionaries can’t go.
• He would use it to reveal the Father’s love to the lonely scrolling late at night, to the doubter searching forums, to the broken-hearted posting cries for help.

5. Challenging Hypocrisy
• Just as He confronted Pharisees in the temple, He might confront religious error or political injustice in online spaces — always with authority and truth, never compromise.

Why Wouldn’t He Avoid It?

• The enemy certainly uses the Internet for deception, addiction, and distraction. But that makes it all the more likely Jesus would reclaim it for light.
• Darkness does not get the final say about any tool. Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Today, “all the world” includes the digital world.

Encouragement:

• If Jesus would use the Internet, then we can too … not for empty noise, but to reflect His heart.
• Every believer can shine online: posting a testimony, sharing scripture, praying for someone in a comment, or encouraging a friend in a private chat.
• The same Spirit that anointed Jesus to proclaim good news is in you. Wherever you log in, He’s there.

Point To Ponder:

How can I use my online presence to reflect Jesus’ heart today — not just in words, but in Spirit and truth?

🙏 Lord, show me how to carry Your presence into the digital world. Use my words, my posts, and even my silence to glorify You. Redeem the Internet through the light of Your truth. Amen.
