Fading Kindness:
🔹You Don’t Know What You’ve Got… No more flowers?
“Kindness fades when it’s worn thin. Don’t wait until it’s gone to value it.”
▪️That good lady used to be the kindest soul you ever met. She was the first one to get up and give you her seat, the one who held the door open for you, and the one who’d pause what she was doing in just to help you figure something out.
But something changed.
Now she’s distant, focused only on her own projects. She doesn’t seem to notice those around her anymore. You think to yourself, “She used to be such a nice lady… now she’s just selfish.”
But maybe—just maybe— she was nice one time too many.
Maybe she poured out so much of herself that there was nothing left.
Maybe she needed to retreat, to regroup, to rebuild.
And now that she’s finally tending to her own life, you’re calling it selfish.
But pause for a moment:
Aren’t you doing the very same thing?
Aren’t you focused on your own business.
Engrossed in your own goals.
Aggravated when someone interrupts you.
Quick to judge when others do what you’re doing—just for different reasons.
People change.
And sometimes, kindness fades not because it’s gone forever, but because it was never returned.
It wore out in silence.
You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.
Treat people right.

🔹🔹Unseen Wisdom — When the Quiet Ones Are Forgotten
There’s a story tucked into Ecclesiastes 9 that sounds familiar to anyone who’s ever felt invisible:
“There was a small city… a poor wise man delivered it by his wisdom.
But no one remembered that poor man.” (Ecclesiastes 9:14–15)
Doesn’t that sound like the lady?
She used to stop everything to help.
She once carried the weight of everyone else’s needs.
And now, she’s pulled back. Focused. Distant. Forgotten.
But what if the people around her never noticed how much she carried until she stopped carrying it?
Solomon saw the same thing:
A wise man saves a whole city—but because he didn’t shout or demand credit, he was forgotten.
He sums it up like this:
• “Wisdom is better than strength.”
• “But the wisdom of the poor is despised.”
• “The words of the wise heard in quietness are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools.”
Quiet people matter!
Wisdom matters!
Kindness, when it’s quiet and persistent, can be the very thing that holds a whole city—or a household—together.
Don’t overlook the one who never asks to be noticed!
They may be the reason your world hasn’t collapsed!
🔹🔹Forgotten by Man, Remembered by God
1 Peter 5:6 – “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.”
Why would God allow a kind, wise, helpful person to be forgotten?
The answer isn’t easy, but it is biblical—and it’s loaded with purpose.
▪️Joseph
Joseph helped the cupbearer in prison and said:
“Remember me when it is well with you.” (Gen. 40:14)
But the man forgot him—for two whole years.
And yet, that delay was God’s setup. Joseph rose to power in God’s timing, not man’s.
▪️David
David wasn’t even invited when Samuel came to anoint a king.
His own father overlooked him. But God saw his heart.
God hides His chosen ones—not because they’re unworthy, but because their time hasn’t come yet.
▪️Jesus
“He was despised and rejected… and we did not esteem Him.” (Isaiah 53:3)
Even Jesus—the perfect One—was ignored, misunderstood, and ultimately crucified.
🔹🔹Why God Allows It:
▪️ To Refine You
“The crucible is for silver… and the Lord tests hearts.” (Prov. 17:3)
Hiddenness reveals whether you’re serving to be seen, or serving to be faithful.
▪️ To Reveal Others
God allows someone’s light to be hidden to see how others treat them in the dark.
▪️To Exalt You at the Right Time
“In due season…” (Gal. 6:9)
When God lifts you, it will be with purpose and power—not popularity.
So if you’ve been the forgotten one—take heart.
You may be hidden from man, but you are seen by God.
And in His timing, He will lift you up.
